Sound Therapy, Coaching, and Wellness Experiences in Japan

You've tried sleeping more and slowing down, but none of it sticks, because the problem isn't your schedule. It's your nervous system. Sound therapy works with it directly.

Are you feeling tired, depleted and “always on”?

Sound therapy supports people with

Sound therapy for stress, burnout, and nervous system recovery

Most approaches to stress and burnout require something of you — effort, discipline, openness, the right mindset.

Sound therapy meets you where you are.

At Zensō, we use the power of sound to support nervous system regulation at a deep, physiological level. You simply lie down and let the sound waves do the work. There’s no force. No confrontation.

How sound therapy works

01
Brainwave
Entrainment

Sound frequencies naturally guide the brain toward alpha and theta states, which are slower brainwave patterns associated with deep rest and reduced mental noise. The mind becomes less reactive and more receptive, supporting clearer thinking, focus, and creativity.

02
Physical Resonance & Tissue Release

The human body is roughly 60-70% water, and water conducts sound five times faster than air. When bowls are placed directly on the body, vibration travels through muscle, bone, and fascia, stimulating a reflex release of held tension.

03
Nervous System Regulation & Recovery

Rhythmic vibration influences heart rate variability and breathing, shifting the autonomic nervous system out of chronic stress mode and into parasympathetic rest. In this relaxed state, the body's natural recovery systems get activated, supporting better sleep, digestion, and immune function.

Meet the Founder

Former marketing executive. Professional flamenco dancer. Burnout survivor. Sound Therapist. Coach.

Nanako Aramaki founded Zensō after experiencing severe burnout in the corporate world. During her sabbatical, she finally had the stillness to hear an inner voice that had always wanted to help people — and discovered sound therapy as the way to do it. Based in the Tokyo area, this Japanese Canadian brings a rare combination of scientific rigour, cultural depth, and lived experience to every session.

  • "The reverberating bowls allowed me to clear my mind easily and focus on calming my inner being. I left my session feeling refreshed and saw the world anew as a place filled with possibilities."

    Andrew Neuman

  • "Nanako is the perfect person to introduce you to sound bath as a therapy. As a practitioner she is kind and knowledgeable. I was able to experience the benefits immediately. I found my session restorative and deeply calming."

    Christina Michael
    Founder Spacious Transitions

  • "I highly recommend Nanako’s session to anyone interested in trying alternative approaches to tackle physical pain or stress - I was not sure what to expect and was surprised at how effective sound therapy was for my foot pain!"

    Stephanie

  • "I wore my Whoop fitness band during and after the session, and the data was eye-opening. My sleep that night was unusually restorative and my recovery score the next day jumped to its highest in 30 days. I woke up feeling recharged and ready to go."

    Daniel Z.

  • "During the sound bath, I could access the depths of my subconscious that I usually cannot reach. By remembering my childhood self and realizing the roots of my anger and negative emotions, those feelings dissipated and I felt like I could move forward."

    Natsue

  • "After the session, it felt like I had released a lot of feelings, kind of like after a lot of crying. My eyes felt very rested, and my body was very relaxed. If you haven’t picked up on it yet, it was a very good experience! I look forward to doing this again."

    David Price
    Mental Health Counselor

  • "Nanako creates such a safe, attentive space where release and relaxation feel natural. I walked in with tension around my shoulders and a lingering 3 day headache. I walked out lighter, relaxed, pain-free, and with better posture."

    Monika Sadkiewicz

  • "The session released tension I'd been carrying and left me genuinely relaxed for the rest of the day. I also slept peacefully for the first time in weeks. You have to try it once to understand what I mean."

    Joe Baz
    CEO

  • "Nanako's sound baths are a solid way to reset yourself emotionally and contribute greatly to a physical reset as well."

    Heather
Leadership and Mental Health Coach, Heather Dobbin Coaching

  • "My first session with Nanako left me much more grounded than when I entered. The bowls and cymbals hit in ways I didn’t expect, especially the smaller ones used on my arms and legs. Those vibrations were way more powerful than what I imagined. Nanako’s a natural practitioner, warm presence, confident in her craft. You can tell she’s genuinely invested in what she’s doing and who she’s working with. Highly recommend getting yourself re-grounded."

    Matt Ketchum
    Principal

  • "I had a very stressful day coming in and I found myself relaxing and responding positively to the tones played. The next day, I woke up feeling calm and engaged with everything I had to do. The day unfolded and I received everything with less emotion than I know I would have normally felt. I am looking forward to the next event!"

    Katie Adler

  • "Sound bathes are not something I have much knowledge of, so I came into this unsure what to expect. Having said that, I have long liked the sounds of shakuhachi and singing bowls. Not only did this session satisfy my craving to hear these instruments played live in harmony but helped me feel incredibly relaxed and gave me some time to focus on myself. I will definitely come again."
